Vans Realty & Construction

The Brief

Van’s Realty & Construction builds homes, and their work speaks for itself. The brief was to create a website that put that work front and center: a visual, photo-forward site that showcased the properties they’ve built and let the quality of the homes do the selling.

While working with Stellar Blue Technologies, I designed and built a site that leans heavily on imagery throughout, turning their portfolio of finished homes into the heart of the experience.

The Challenge

For a homebuilder, the product is visual and the trust is everything. The site had to do both.

  • The homes they’ve built needed to be showcased beautifully, with photography carrying the site
  • Prospective buyers needed an easy way to browse listings and featured properties
  • The brand needed to feel established and trustworthy, a household name people could rely on
  • The visual-heavy design had to stay clean and fast, not cluttered or slow
  • Content had to guide visitors from admiring the work toward reaching out

Scope of Work

The goal was to create a website that:

  • Showcases the homes with large, high-quality imagery throughout
  • Makes featured listings easy to browse and explore
  • Reflects the company’s trusted, established reputation
  • Feels polished and intuitive across every device
  • Guides interested visitors toward getting in touch

Tools Used:

The Solution

As Creative Lead on the project at Stellar Blue Technologies, I handled the strategy, structure, design, and build, taking the site from sitemap through to a finished, live experience.

Strategic Foundation

  • Mapped the sitemap and content structure in Octopus.do, built around showcasing completed homes
  • Prioritized the paths that mattered most: browsing the work and reaching out
  • Structured navigation so the photography stayed the star without losing the practical information buyers need

Design & Development

  • Designed the look and feel in Adobe XD, building an image-forward layout that let the homes lead
  • Ran design review and client feedback through Markup.io for clear, trackable input
  • Built the live site on WordPress with Elementor Pro, carrying the visual design system across every page
  • Applied responsive design so the imagery stayed sharp and the experience held up from desktop to mobile

Functionality & Integrations

  • Integrated the Real Estate MLX Plugin to power browsable MLS listings and featured properties
  • Built a homepage and interior pages designed around large-format photography of the finished homes

Why This Project Matters

This project is a strong example of letting the work speak for itself. When the product is as visual as a custom-built home, the design’s job is to get out of the way and let the photography carry it. Building an image-forward site that stayed clean, fast, and easy to navigate is exactly the kind of visual storytelling that turns a portfolio of homes into a reason to reach out.
