BDS Fastener is a family-owned, full-line fastener distributor. In an industry where a lot of companies can sell you the same bolt, what sets BDS apart isn’t the fasteners, it’s the value-added services wrapped around them: managing a customer’s inventory, kitting parts into ready-to-use bundles, custom packaging, and small assembly.
The brief was to redesign their website so those value-added services took center stage, and to place calls to action throughout the site so it was always easy for a potential customer to reach out. In short, turn the site into a tool that shows what makes BDS different and makes it simple to start a conversation.
For a distributor, the website’s job is to sell the difference, not just the parts. That shaped everything.
The goal was to create a website that:
I designed and built BDS Fastener’s website around a single idea: make what sets them apart impossible to miss, and make reaching out effortless.
This project is a good reminder that the “unglamorous” industries make some of the most satisfying design work. A fastener distributor might not sound flashy, but the challenge was a real one: take a business whose true value lives in its services, not its products, and build a site that makes that value obvious and easy to act on. Turning “we sell bolts” into “here’s why customers stay with us” is exactly the kind of problem I like to solve.
